Founding Cycle (2026) Historical significance

The first recognition cycle.

The Founding Cycle is IPC’s first official recognition cycle. Awards are intentionally limited. Early recognitions carry historical significance as the baseline of IPC’s standard.

What this cycle is

The Founding Cycle defines IPC’s standard in public. The goal is not volume—it’s credibility. Recognition may be withheld at any level if submissions do not meet the criteria.

Core idea:
A Founding Cycle recognition is a signal of authorship and quality under a new, fixed evaluation standard. It is not a membership and is not guaranteed.
Reminder

Judged on the work alone

Social metrics, status, and prior awards do not influence outcomes. Standards remain the same for everyone.

Recognition capacity (Founding Cycle)

IPC recognitions are limited by design. These ranges communicate intent—not guarantees. IPC may award fewer, or none, if standards aren’t met.

Merit

Limited

Entry-level recognition issued selectively for strong, controlled work.

Distinction

Very limited

Issued rarely for clear authorship, coherence, and a consistent visual voice.

Excellence

1–2 or none

Highest recognition. Reserved for exceptional originality and mastery.

Policy:
IPC does not guarantee awards. Recognition is earned, not purchased. If standards are not met, IPC may withhold recognition.
